Screed on a separating layer is used where no sound insulation or thermal insulation is required and a bonded screed is not an approach. This is the case when the substrate is not suitable for an adhesive base or when high loads do not have to be supported.
The purpose of the separating layer is to allow the screed to float without problems in the event of temperature changes or changes due to hygric conditions. The separating layer is classically made of PE foil. It is implemented in accordance with DIN 1856.
